According to the United Nations, the share of people aged 65 and over is expected to rise from 10% in 2020 to over 16% by 2050 worldwide.

This demographic shift deeply impacts public health systems, economies, and societies. Countries must equip themselves with new tools, innovations, and policies to strengthen the Silver Economy and improve quality of life for older adults.

Emphasis is placed on holistic well-being across physical, mental, social, and safety dimensions, ensuring older adults thrive in every aspect of life.

Objectives of the “Innovation for Aging Society” Competition

  • Promote the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in developing innovations that address the needs of older adults
  • Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration among startups, researchers, developers, and non-profit organizations to design creative solutions
  • Accelerate the development of prototypes that are ready for real-world testing
  • Build an international network of stakeholders to exchange knowledge and scale innovations toward commercial application
  • Enhance the quality of life and safety of older adults through innovations that prioritize Universal Design and senior-friendly usability
Competition Scope

The competition focuses on new ideas, digital services, products, or hardware prototypes that address challenges faced by older adults globally.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Open to all nationalities
  • Participants must be 15 years old or above
  • Open to individuals or teams of 3–5 members

This competition is organized without financial support from government or private sector organizations. The organizing team and judges are all volunteers who have dedicated their personal time and holidays to provide Thai youth with this valuable opportunity. Please communicate with the organizers politely and respectfully, understanding the spirit of contribution and public service. Avoid causing unnecessary problems, respect the community, and strictly follow the rules below.
  1. Do not post complaints, negative comments, personal issues, or anything that could damage the competition’s reputation in public chat rooms.
    • Please use the official LINE OA channel to contact organizers: LINE ID: @droneacademy.
    • Any violation will result in immediate removal without prior notice.
  2. Respect the organizers and judges. Do not create or contribute to a negative atmosphere during the competition or disrupt the sense of community.
  3. All participants and guardians must thoroughly read all competition details before asking questions.
    • Please avoid repeated or unnecessary questions that are already addressed in the guidelines.
  4. Applicants with a known history of inappropriate behavior—such as disrespectful speech, aggression, or lack of cooperation—will not be accepted.
  5. All decisions made by the judges and organizing committee are final and cannot be contested.
  6. Plagiarism or using code/content without proper citation will result in disqualification.
  7. Any disrespectful speech or behavior towards organizers or judges will lead to immediate disqualification.
  8. Disqualified participants will not be eligible for any certificates from the organizers or associated institutions (including NASA, if applicable).
    • If you wish to appeal, please contact the organizers politely.
  9. Do not promote any unrelated events or activities without prior approval from the organizing team.
  10. If any team member violates these rules, the entire team will be disqualified.

During October – December after NASA Space App of each year

At this moment, as a local leader of NASA Space Apps, you can join for free, but some of the competitions may require a special entry fee

Teams can have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 members.

The competition will be held Online on October 5-6, 2024.

One team with the highest score that also meets the 90% or higher scoring criteria. All participating teams from both Thailand and Singapore will be considered. In case of tied scores, the judges’ decision is final and at their discretion.

6-18 years old (divided into appropriate age categories)

The organizers will announce the results on the website within 1-2 weeks.

After the registration closes, the organizing team will contact you and provide the ZOOM link to join the competition 1-2 days before the event.

You must fill out the form for each team member to create your team.
